Post Card Companies
These Companies will take your timeshare off your hands. They generally charge a fee of approximately $3500.00. Problems that have happened with this business model is that the Seller pays the money and the deed does not get transferred. Several companies have closed up without the deed being transferred. Probably better to use an attorney if you are doing this.

Real Timeshare Marketing of Boynton Beach
This was in the Palm Beach Post Yesterday. With assistance from local Florida Attorneys specializing in recovering funds from victims of time share fraud, A ringleader in a national scam run from Palm Beach County has been handed what federal prosecutors believe is the toughest penalty in a time-share telemarketing case since it became Florida's top fraud complaint: 10 years in prison and $1.1 million in restitution. Darnell Disroe, 39, and associates at Real Timeshare Marketing of Boynton Beach told "blatant lies" on the phone to scam $1.3 million in fees out of more than 600 people around the country, including Illinois, prosecutors said. Disroe, who pleaded guilty to the charges, was sentenced Monday in U.S. District Court in East St. Louis, Ill. The Law Offices of Howard Feinmel, P.A. assisted in providing information about this criminal as well as 39 other time share fraud companies, including ones that have turned into "reloader" businesses. The U.S. attorneys office is slowly closing in on the Time Share Marketing Companies and Time Share recovery companies. More arrests to come. Time-Share Trickery
Every week, Michael Piccininni gets unsolicited phone calls and postcards from self-proclaimed “time-share resellers” who promise a quick sale of his Williamsburg, Va., unit to buyers they’ve already lined up.“I don’t know how they got my name,” Piccininni tells Scam Alert. “They all make the same promises. And they all say they need money upfront in order to make it happen.”
In these tough economic times, thousands of time-share owners are anxious to dump their beachfront albatrosses. But it can be tough—last year, time-share sales dropped 40 percent.
Preying on this widespread frustration, scammers identify owners through public property records or lists bought or stolen from resort developers and then contact them with word that their problem is over. The Massachusetts Attorney General’s Office says that time-share reselling scams were its top consumer complaint in 2009.
Piccininni fits the scammers’ target profile. He desperately wants to sell a unit he bought 17 years ago. “My wife and I don’t use it anymore,” he says, “and every year, the maintenance fees increase.” The 78-year-old Floridian originally paid the Wyndham resort $12,000 for a two-week ownership and later tried to sell it back at a significant loss. No luck.
Piccininni has already been scammed twice. One caller promised a rapid sale, but instead took $400 and vanished. Another—one of 17 time-share resellers currently under investigation by the Florida attorney general—charged $500 without delivering the “guaranteed” buyer.
The latest come-ons: “One guy said if I paid him $3,500, he’d take my time-share off my hands.” Another wanted a $900 commission upfront, saying he had a family moving here from Mexico who wanted to buy the time-share. “I offered him twice that amount—after the sale—but he said that was against the law.”
Another variation on the swindle: charging hundreds or even thousands of dollars in advance simply for listing the property, usually on a website. After payment is made, even that may not occur. “It’s way too easy to start a website and do absolutely nothing but take upfront fees,” says Howard Nusbaum, president of the American Resort Development Association.
Tips for sellers:
Never pay upfront fees.
Any unsolicited contact from a time-share reseller—particularly with the promise of a big payoff—is a red flag. On average, one-week units sell for $20,000 new and, on resale, fetch as little as a few thousand dollars, depending on market conditions, says Nusbaum.
Check with your resort about any resale programs it offers, newsletters with “for sale” listings, or partnerships with local real estate agents. Expect to pay a 10 to 30 percent commission to a legitimate agent for a resale.
When listing online, stick with established websites such as http://www.red week.com or http://www.tug2.net. They may charge up to $35 a year.
Before doing business with any reseller, check its reputation at http://www.bbb.org and with your resort. Confirm licensing claims with your state’s real estate commission.

Scam Watch: Timeshare Scams and protecting personal information
Last week, I was the lucky recipient of a text message that read:
Dear Tara, Congrats. Youve been selectd as a winner. Pls contct <name removed> at <number removed> for mr info. T&Capply
Of course, I ignored it because I assumed it was a scam. Sure it had local phone numbers listed and everything but if a legitimate company was contacting me to tell me I had won a prize, I’d expect the text message to be spelled correctly at least. Well, I’d expect more than a text message in the first place.
Which I got a couple of days later when they decided to phone me. On the office phone.
This guy gave me a long story about some all expenses paid trip I had won and how fantastic it sounds…I wasn’t really paying attention to be honest with you because I was pre-occupied with how he got the office number. Which I asked him as soon as he finished his sales pitch. Unfortunately I seem to have distressed him a bit because this wasn’t what he was expecting – he rather expected me to scream and cheer, not ask him difficult questions.
According to my new found Phone Friend, I had entered a contest in December at Tygervalley Shopping Centre and he got the number off of that entry form. That’s a great story. There’s just three things wrong with it: 1.) I haven’t entered any contests. Not in December and not since then. 2.) I haven’t been to Tygervalley Shopping Centre in YEARS and 3.) I only started working here in February.
Basically all this means he’s absolutely full of rubbish. By this point, I was bored of him and I had actual work to do so I requested he phone me back later. Of course he never did.
Ever the fan of Nancy Drew, I went on my own little mission to find out who in heavens name this fool was so I did what any successful investigative mind would do…I googled. As it turns out, one of the phone numbers belongs to a time share company and suddenly, everything became clear.
This particular time share scam is massively popular. A representative will phone or email a victim informing them they have won a prize. The victim will then be told they will have to collect their prize at a ‘prizegiving’ of some kind which will take place on such and such a date at such and such a place. Once the poor victim is there, they will then be forced to sit through a long winded sales pitch for whatever time share they happen to have. And your prize? Nowhere. You’ll get told you have to make a purchase to get it. In other words, what they’re doing is illegal. You’re being lured there under false pretences and these people will try and defraud you.
Moral of the Story: I know it’s terribly exciting when you think you may have won something and you do get all caught up in it. Basically, reason tries to fly out of the window. Do not let it! Always verify who a company is first and if you can’t remember entering the contest they’re yakking on about, don’t give them any kind of personal information. Let’s face it, if you had entered a contest, they’d have all the info they need.

Grand Premier Vacation and Timeshare Scams
There is a scam going on in a lot of states where these good sypathetic folks who seem to be outstanding citizens in the community, offer to get your out of your timeshare, but it costs you, yes you money when they put you into a vacation product which they have interest in called Grand Premier Vacations. They don't have the product that they represent and are being investigated by the State of Missouri, and I will be filing a claim with the State of Utah. The buying company is usually a smaller company, example STS Acquisitions and M & H Acquisitions with an office in Park City Utah. They tell you that they will take over you time share and pay the maintenance fees, in exchange for the purchase of the vacation program. I can't reach the people any longer, and I'm scared that I've lost my timeshare which is a deeded property and my $3300 to get into the phony vacation plan. Please respond if this has happened to you and lets see if we can get more to complain and do something to these people HELP
